Yummybay.com review – Looks good, but doesn’t works ?

Yummybay.com is an online food ordering portal with services listed for cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune and Kerala. The site is looking fully operational from the user view on landing the website, but it seems like the back end operations are not happening as expected.

We tried booking a take-away from one of the main hotels listed in Kerala. The menu was presented with item details and price. Check out also happened with cash on delivery option. A successful transaction page was shown at the end saying that they will call for confirming the order. User will also get an SMS on their registered mobile phones.

The price of dishes was low compared to the current market price and this also made a doubt on the current operational status of this website. Though it was mentioned that the hotel/website will call us for confirming delivery within 15 minutes, no further response was available from the other side.

Several other user review websites also has reporting similar issues over this website. It looks like, though the website is up and running, the back end support and operations are not happening in the preferred way. This may be some temporary issue, but it would be better if the website have some notification about the same. A new user will spend time and effort in placing the order, though the order is not getting processed in the back end. This will not only affect the reputation of yummybay.com, but also reflect a bad image on the overall online shopping/ordering experience of the users. It will not be a good thing for the online space as the user base of these cities are on the nascent stage of online commerce experience.

Myntra Flipkart Online shopping stopped in Kerala

Online shopping in most of the locations in kerala including the state capital trivandrum is facing serious issues. Major players in the field like flipkart, myntra , jabong , shopclues , snapdeal etc have shopped shipping to kerala. When you enter your pincode of most of the locations in kerala, it is showing as the Product cannot be delivered to the location. On myntra it is showing as We cannot deliver to this pincode anymore.
Reports says that this is because of the tax issues with the kerala government. As of now the sales tax for online shopping is credited to the state where the online shop is situated or registered. As the volume of online shopping increased in kerala, a notable reduction in tax through sales is leading to these issues.
At first cash on delivery was discontinued as in this case the cash transaction is happening in kerala and this will lead to the payment of tax in kerala. But now most of the sites have stopped shipping to most of the locations we tried placing an order. This is because the courier service cant deliver these products due to these type of issues.
There may be other reasons also which is leading to a halt for online shopping experience in kerala. Companies and government has to sort out  a way to end the issues and the people will be able to  enjoy the online shopping experience only after sometime.
